Born 1950. B.A. in Economics, University of Tokyo; PhD (International Information and Communication Studies). Resident in New York at the Bank of Japan; Director, Research Division 2, Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies; Counsellor, Planning Bureau and Credit Institutions Bureau; Professor, Graduate School, Waseda University; member of the International Accounting Standards Committee and chairperson and member of various government committees. His most recent book is "State, Firm and Currency: The Inconvenient Future of Globalism".
